I believe that one person truly can make a difference.
And I believe a person can make an even bigger difference when they’re supported + inspired + guided by an ally who helps them navigate change.
I internalized that quote about “being the change you wish to see in the world” and spent much of my life trying to make the world a better place. I saw the world with Peace Corps, worked with nonprofit sector leaders in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and lead Starbucks’ strategic giving program. I believe in giving back to our communities + the world.
These days, I’m making a difference by helping the change-makers themselves.
I know that the leaders of our world – the very people leading teams and designing strategy – need guidance, too. I help my clients find their purpose and show them how to manage conflict (both internal and external) with grace and compassion. They become more centered, more present, and much, much calmer. These centered, present leaders exude an integrated wholeness, cultivated daily through mindfulness and awareness of the totality of their being.
And these calm, present leaders are a benefit to all of us. They’re more fulfilled at work, more likely to lead with consideration + capability, and more inclined to affect that change we want to see.
There are a million ways to change the world. This is how I choose to do it.
